IGNITE VULNERABILITY — Empower Yourself & Be The Change
Discussion & networking event by FTDA (Finnish Tech, Design & Art), Kota-Alliance and Finlandia Center Foundation
Date and Time: October 19, 2019, 12pm-6pm
Location: Centre for Social Innovation, 601 W 26th St #325, New York, NY 10001
What is this event all about?
Being seen and heard requires the courage to be vulnerable and expose new, sometimes even seemingly crazy ideas into the world. Coming from Finland, the hotbed for tech and social innovation, we believe we have something to share about igniting vulnerability as a driving force for positive impact.
There’s a reason why the Nordic countries are constantly ranked as the happiest nations in the world. We’re on a mission to spark discussion of how all this could be implemented into the work of human rights organizations and societies globally.
The power of technology can be harnessed and utilized for social awareness in a way that used to be unimaginable. We invite you to join us to talk about the achievements and positive changes that non-profits and human rights organizations have achieved and will create in the future. Let’s ignite our vulnerability together, make impact and cultivate concrete collaboration between our organizations.
Our one-day event contains a one-hour discussion panel, Voices From The North sound healing empowerment concert and a hands-on-networking lounge. As one of our highlights, we offer the possibility to take part and experience the well-known Finnish empowering photography movement “Break the Mold”, and have your own picture taken.
